Nausheen Kamal has been flirting with the camera for the last couple of years appearing on the small screen in various garbs from time to time but her character in Sultanat is by far the strongest because of its scheming nature. This negativity is the real reason for Nausheen being noticed by tele-lovers.

Nobody could have guessed this diminutive girl could spit out so much venom as she does in this serial. And that is how people perceive her; some are actually wary of this girl when they come face to face with her. But none of this disturbs her in the least.

Fame becomes Nausheen - she has improved immensely since she first came on screen in 2001. She had always wanted to be an actress but was finally given a chance by Tanveer Jamal. Prior to that she had been concentrating on her studies. Once through with it she discovered her passion for arts and not just performing arts but she was also inclined towards using make-up artistically. It was at this stage that she decided to become a beautician. As for being an actor that goes without saying, she had always harboured dreams of seeing herself on screen some day. Guess what? She finally hit jackpot!

Before Nausheen, none of her other family members had ever experimented with the celluloid. She was the pioneer in her family but never did she have to put up with any resistance. Her family was completely supportive of her; in fact says she, "my mother is my backbone. She encourages me and is always there for me and for that I'm real thankful to her."

Besides being a celebrity she is also a pretty young girl that must mean guys hitting on you all the time? How do you handle that, any untoward incident you'd like to share with us? "I enjoy being famous and respect that status. As far as guys are concerned that's all part of the game but I can handle that without any trouble. What matters to me is my private life and I guard that jealously. There's no room for interference there." Nausheen is now a familiar face courtesy the commercials and plays she has been in.

Unfortunately I haven't been on the ramp and that's because I do not have the height for ramp modeling." She has had her share of quality brands, for instance she was featuredin commercials like Shezor, Bata, PTCL and as for plays the list goes something like: Sultanat, Suba Honay ko hai, Khala kulsoom ka kumba, Atish, Razaan, Shiraza,Pas-e-Aaina and an Indian co-production Kahin Pyar Na Ho Jayee. Having dabbled in all, she considers acting her first love. "I prefer acting because that's where you can express yourself by completely throwing yourself in the character. You are transported in another world at once and you get to play numerous characters, characters you can only dream of in real life," she adds. However, one such role she did manage to take on, that of a beautician. She is a qualified make-up artist and has done courses and diploma in the same from abroad.

Once equipped by all that's needed to be in this field she set out, determined to make her mark in that department too and has set up shop in Karachi recently. The salon is constructed on modern lines and has a zen-feel to it. While she has girls catering to the various needs of her clients Nausheen personally handles all the make-up at the salon. That is her other passion, besides acting. "I want to make it big as a beautician." Acting and modelling are still a hobby for this lass. Certainly not a career! But a hobby she loves and can never get enough of. However, this love of success has not made her run after anything and everything that comes her way. She claims to consider every offer before giving her go-ahead. For her the decisive factors are the script and the director that she believes makes or breaks a play. At present, Nausheen is more than happy with her lot. She has attained all that she wanted to in life and even more. But is still unsure of where she might be 10 years down the lane. She believes that you really cannot plan ahead much as only God knows what there is in store for you, you might plan on something but the opposite might strike, so why bother?

But there definitely is something that she wants: to play a psycho character similar to the sort that Urmila plays in Ek Hasina Thi and Pyar Tu Nay Kya Kia and of course, a lawyer too.

We have always seen Nausheen as slim as can be, how we wonder, does she stay that way? Is it due to a strict diet regime or a back-breaking workout? "Well I eat healthy primarily but I also try to work out whenever I can." As for make-up, being a make-up artist herself she knows how to best play up her assets, and that she does when going out. Normally she prefers soft simple make-up for a casual evening.
